Pui Tjan Wong
Creëren is iets wat ik graag doe en dan ook het liefst door blijven gaan tot het eindresultaat. Het blijft toch een soort van magisch momentje, van niets tot een parel. Zelfs mijn naam bevat een halve parel. Dat is omdat ik een van de tweeling ben, beiden maakt ons een parel. Mijn naam is Pui Tjan en mijn tweelingzusje heet Pui Chi. ‘Tjan Chi’ betekent parel in het Chinees. Pen is mijn favoriete gereedschap. Ik maak daar aantekeningen van, schets daar ideeën mee of ik maak er illustraties van. Kortom, een pen is onmisbaar bij het creatief proces. Naast een pen ben ik natuurlijk ook nieuwsgierig naar andere materialen zoals verschillende stoffen, garens, verven etc. En ik hou ervan om verschillende technieken op een spelenderwijze manier uit te proberen. Blijven onderzoeken en creëren, dat houdt mijn geest creatief!
Creating gives me pleasure and it is something I prefer to continue doing until the end result is like a pearl. It is like a magical little moment, from nothing to pearl. Even my name consists of half of a pearl, because I’m one half of a twin, both of us make a whole pearl. My name is Pui Tjan and my twin sister’s name is Pui Chi. ‘Tjan Chi’ means pearl in Chinese. My favorite tool is pen. I use it to make notes, sketch ideas or make illustrations. In a word, a pen is essential for my creative process. In addition to the pen, I’m curious about other materials, such as different fabrics, yarns, paints etc. And I love to try different techniques in a playful way. Continually exploring and creating, that’s what keeps my mind creative!
